Bio:

Daemon Sung

Master Daeman Sung joins ThinQ Fitness as a presenter of Martial Arts. He brings with him a wealth of knowledge and experience developed over many years reflected by his awesome status of 4th Dan black belt in Hapkido and 1st Dan black belt in WTF Taekwondo.

The mind set for martial arts is different to general fitness as it combines philosophy and a deeper understanding of the body in health and how it works. To achieve the status which Daemon has achieved in his young years is a testimony to hard work, thought and focus and we are immensely privileged to have his expertise on board.

Daemon started HAPKIDO when he was 13 years old and trained under a well-known Korean Grandmasters for many years. This is where Daemon learnt not only the skill of self defence but also the study of all factors that affect the health of our bodies, but “above all” Daemon says “the philosophy of the Martial Arts is to harmoniously and simultaneously develop and discipline the mind, body and spirit”.

As a young man Daemon continued with Hapkido, Taekwondo and also served in the Korean Army Special Forces as a military intelligence officer for four years.
In 1998 after a move to the UK he set up the Hapkido Club at Durham University, North UK. It became a popular form of exercise and Daemon went on to use his excellent teaching skills to train the Durham Riot Police Force, University clubs, fitness instructors, school students and women’s self defence classes etc throughout the North.

In 2007 he decided to try his luck in London and he established The School of Korean Martial Arts (SKMA) in the Southwest. His name has gone before him as his messages on self defence help so many people from all walks of life.
We hope you enjoy Daemons sessions on ThinQ Fitness and as with all personal growth and development we encourage you to join a class locally to you to really take this form of fitness further.

What drives Daemon?
"I believe influencing other people might be a good gift to have. I see people who try and learn Korean Martial Arts in our school are changing their lifestyle mentally as well as physically. When I see the people change, I enjoy myself more in teaching and it drives me to work hard."

Why fitness is important to Daemon?
" Because you can have healthier life and healthier life brings you happier life!."

Daemon’s fitness tips:
• Be Positive
• Be Patient
• Overcome yourself
